LIFE NoiseLessPV – Programme for the Environment and Climate Action (LIFE) of TechSafe Industries

This year, our Start-up has participated in the LIFE Programme for European Grant with the LIFE NoiseLessPV project.

This project aims to show the solution with our innovative Photovoltaic Noise Barrier (SunScreen) to fight effectively noise pollution for the well-being of city dwellers, to provide the renewable energy production and CO₂ emission reduction. This will contribute to environment improvement and climate change mitigation.

The project consists of the construction of three experimentation sites located at Montgeron in the Ile de France Region as follows:

Site N° 1: New construction of photovoltaic noise barrier on small noise black spot site. – Extension of existing noise barrier on 120 m.
Site N° 2: Replacement of degraded noise barrier by a new construction of SunScreen on medium site, which is close to high-density residential towers and extends over 500 m.
Site N° 3: Integration of photovoltaic panels on existing conventional noise barrier on medium site, which is close to school and extends over 400 m.

The number of beneficiaries of noise reduction estimated is 2500 people.

The project will:

demonstrate our SunScreen having high noise reduction performance in junction with high energy production to improve environment, well-being for people and renewable energy production without conflict with agriculture land use. The noise reduction will be between 6 – 15 dB to reach acceptable noise level. The renewable energy production is between 357 and 556 MWh per year;
show the number of CO₂ emissions reduction or avoided (teqCO2) and positive socio-economic impact. The teqCO2 for the project is between 345 – 545 tons, and between 3800 – 6000 tons over 5 years after the end of the project.
promote the creation of new projects and jobs, with 15 jobs during the project and 150 jobs created 5 years after the end of the project;

The duration of the LIFE NoiseLessPV project is scheduled for 4 years, with a budget of 5 M€. The first two years are dedicated for pre-study, sites construction and 2 last years are reserved for the project results exploitation.
